James Ryan, DDS, MS

Meet Dr. Ryan

Dr. Ryan has spent more than 20 years in the operating room and has a very interesting and unique background. After completion of the only masters program (at that time) in the world in Perfusion Technology, Dr. Ryan served as the Chief Perfusionist at Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute. Dr. Ryan spent more than five years at this world renown institute that performed over 1,200 cardiac surgical procedures a year. In 2002, Dr. Ryan attended New York University College of Dentistry and completed the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Honors Program. In 2006, Dr. Ryan was accepted and completed an additional four years of Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Washington Hospital Center. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the only specialty of dentistry that acts and functions as a medical resident in a hospital setting. Dr. Ryan was one of only two that were matched to this prestigious training program.

Upon completion of this intense and rigorous training program, Dr. Ryan was recruited to stay and train other residents that were accepted. Dr. Ryan remained on faculty as the Assistant Program Director until 2012. Dr. Ryan spent a short time in private practice near Georgetown in Washington, DC before building Evolution Oral Surgery, LLC in Germantown, MD.

Dr. Ryan decided to build this practice without all the barriers and limits that are often set up in small business entities. The focus of our practice is patient care. Our guiding principles are to work hard with honesty to serve our community and to never judge anyone.
